1) Make sure everyone is wearing comfortable shoes that they can easily slip on and off, so if you have to stop suddenly you’re not losing any time trying to get shoes on.

2) Keep a separate pair of shoes at the front entrance so your children can easily slip them on if they need to run outside with you. That way, if your child is barefoot or wearing uncomfortable shoes it doesn’t become an issue.

3) Make sure the kids know that they should never run inside. If they need to move fast, they should walk quickly.

4) When you’re leaving the store, make sure your child is not holding any bags or merchandise. That way if someone accidentally grabs their arm it doesn’t cause them to fall down and possibly get hurt.

5) Make sure you can easily see your child at all times. That way if they run away from you, it doesn’t cause a panic and people aren’t bumping into each other trying to catch them.

6) Keep close track of where the kids are at all times. If they’re running around in different aisles, tell them specifically to go to a certain corner of the store and wait for you. They should never go out of your sight.

7) If they start to complain of being tired while shopping, make sure you find somewhere quiet where they can rest for a little while before going back out into the store again. That way they don’t get cranky and ruin everyone’s shopping experience.

8) If they start to complain of being bored while shopping, tell them that this is your time to shop and not their playtime. Make sure you take a break from the store every once in a while so they have time to enjoy themselves.

  9) You should always carry a cell phone with you when you shop in case of an emergency. It’s also useful if your kids start to have a tantrum in the store, then you can just call for someone to help you control them while everyone else is shopping.

Remember that safety is the number one priority when you’re out shopping with children. If something bad happens, you’ll want to be able to take care of it quickly without having to worry about your kids getting hurt in the process.

Toys for kids can be a dangerous place for a young child

The Department of Justice has recently issued open public warning for parents about the possible injuries that can be inflicted to their children by toys.

The department said it will be responsible to investigate and prosecute any store or company who is selling defective products and put the life of kids at risk.

It was pointed out that dangerous toys can lead to serious injuries that can be prevented.

It must be recalled that the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission has just released a report about the number of toy related injuries that went under treatment in hospital emergency rooms during last year’s Christmas season.

The commission pointed out that there are sharp, powerful and small toys which might cause harm to children if not used with a great deal of care.

The commission also warns parents to be careful with toys that have a string or cords longer than 12 inches as it could lead to strangulation if the child gets entangled.

It must be recalled that from January 1, 2003 to September 30, 2013, there were about 265 toy-related deaths in the United States involving children under the age of 14.

The commission said it’s important to inspect all toys for possible loose or exposed parts, strings and cables that could cause a strangulation hazard.

Also, look out for warning labels on the toys and check if they meet US safety standards.
